Clodovis Boff e o método da Teologia da Libertação. Uma aproximação crítica

Resumo

Todo saber que se pretenda crítico está obrigado a dar razão de si mesmo. E disso não está isenta a teologia, pelo menos na medida em que se pretenda crítica. De vez em quando precisa voltar-se sobre si mesma, explicitar seus pressupostos práxico-teóricos, rever o caminho feito, ponderar os resultados, identificar e corrigir possíveis desvios ou deformações, enfim, justificar-se a si mesma para poder seguir adiante com lucidez e vigor. No caso da Teologia da Libertação (TdL), quem mais se confrontou com essa problemática foi Clodovis Boff. O presente artigo retoma, criticamente, sua compreensão e formulação da TdL e de seu método com o intuito de aprofundar, fortalecer e impulsionar um quefazer teológico verdadeiramente libertador.

Abstract: Every field of knowledge that claims to be critical must be able to justify itself. Theology is no exception, at least as long as it aspires to be critical. Every now and then it must turn to itself, make its practical-theoretical presuppositions clear, look again at the path already covered, weigh its results, identify and correct possible deviations or distortions, in short, justify itself in order to be able to go forward with clarity of thought and energy. In the case of the Theology of Liberation (TdL), Clodovis Boff was the person who most often had to confront this problem. The present article resumes in a critical manner his understanding and formulation of the TdL and of his own method in the hope of deepening, strengthening and fostering a truly liberating theological work.
