Abstract: The text attempts to rescue the Holy Spirit’s role in a synodical configuration of the Church in order to correct the unilateral emphasis on its doctrinal and juridical dimensions, typical of the Western ecclesiology. In a first part, the work demonstrates that the first addressee of the mission to proclaim and carry out God’s salvific design, known as the Kingdom of God, is the God’s People. The main basis for the study are, above all, the texts of the Vatican Council II. There is, then, a second part that demonstrates the Holy Spirit’s action on all members of the Church, illuminating their faith and stimulating their practices and initiatives. In this way, realities such as “the sense of faith”, the diversity of Christian theologies, the institutional configuration of the Church and the authority (exousia) of all in the common mission will emerge. In the final part, it adresses how the development of a genuinely synodical Church would be possible: its conditions and possibilities.
}, number={321}, journal={Revista Eclesiástica Brasileira}, author={Miranda, Mário de França}, year={2022}, month={abr.}, pages={24–44} }
